OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies – Full Course
Structure & Content
If you are new to aesthetic practice or have relatively limited experience in this field of practice, then the Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Injectable Therapies will take you from relative novice to expert practitioner. The Diploma is mapped against the JCCP standards, ensuring that all the current requirements for practice are met.

Structure of the Programme – what to expect.
Once enrolled onto the Level 7 Diploma, you will be given access to our online learning platform. This contains all the learning materials you will need to complete the programme successfully, including video lessons, core reading, further reading lists and assessments.

The Level 7 Diploma is divided into 7 mandatory units:

Anatomy, Pathophysiology and Dermatology for Aesthetic Practice
Consultation, Assessment, and Image Recording in Aesthetic Practice
Medical Health, Safety and Welfare in Aesthetic Practice
Clinical Injectable Therapies – Face
Clinical Injectable Therapies – Non-Face
Core Values, Ethics and Professionalism in Aesthetic Practice
Critical Literature Review
Each Unit is broken down into lessons.
Each lesson comprises:

Video keynote
Core Reading on the topic
List of further reading on the topic
You must progress through the lessons and Units in order, i.e. you will not be able to progress to Unit 2 until you have completed Unit 1 etc. You may, however, go back to earlier lessons and Units once you have completed them.

At the end of each Unit, there is a summative assessment for you to complete online. This will be marked as either pass or refer.

If you are referred in a Unit Assessment, you will have 2 further attempts at the assessment following academic guidance from the SATA tutors.

Reflection on Practice
At the beginning of the programme, you will be given access to an online Reflective Log. You should use this Log throughout your programme to record observations of treatments carried out by the tutors. These treatments carried out by the tutors will be available for you to view online or in person as many times as you wish, but you must observe a minimum of 10 botulinum toxin and 10 dermal filler treatments, record these in your reflective log and submit this for assessment by the end of the programme.

Practice assessment
Assessment of your practice is a key part of the programme. The tutors will observe and assess you undertaking 10 botulinum toxin and 10 dermal filler treatments. Before you undertake your practice assessments, there will be plenty of opportunities to observe your tutors undertaking toxin and dermal filler treatments.

This assessment will be against criteria which reflect the learning outcomes of the Units, and you will be able to see the criteria against which you are assessed.

Practice assessments must take place at the SATA premises in Liverpool. All models, consumables, and products will be provided by SATA.

Practice assessments will be approximately one hour in length.

At the beginning of your programme, you will be given a list of dates available for your practice assessments. These will run from the end of Unit 1 to the end of the programme.

You can book your dates for practice assessments with SATA on any of the dates given. There will only be 7 available times per date, starting at 9am and finishing with the last assessment for that day being at 5pm. This gives you the flexibility to book your assessment dates in advance.

Practice assessments will also be marked as pass or refer. There will be further opportunities to undertake practice assessments if you are referred in any one of them.

Formative assessments
There will be opportunities, should you want to, to undertake practice or formative assessments before you complete your end of Unit assessment. These will not be marked but are a good opportunity for you to test your understanding of a given topic and seek support from the tutors before attempting your summative End of Unit Assessment.

Student Support
SATA tutors are here to support and guide you on your journey through the Level 7 Diploma. We will give you ‘office hours’ when we will be available to chat either in person, on the phone or online to discuss any issues or difficulties you might have. We will be available to you outside of these hours for emergencies only.

We will also see you in person at the beginning of the programme for an induction day and when you come in for your practice assessment days. This will be at the SATA premises in Liverpool.
