We could not deliver a quality course covering the aesthetic uses of Botulinum Toxin A and have a useful practical session in one day.

Conversely, we believe that as long as the delegate has
an understanding and experience of:

- Basic Facial Anatomy
- Mechanism of action of the toxin
- Practical experience of reconstituting a vial of an -
injectable drug
- Physical administration of an injection

Then they can take home a valuable and easily reproducible understanding of aesthetic administration of the toxin. Also, one day courses are not always able to address the wide array of knowledge and experience within the delegates. Therefore, we have settled on two full days of teaching on a weekend. Any more than this and it would make it impractical for delegates to attend. Annual leave is precious! Any less and we would not be able to convey a complete understanding of aesthetic uses of Botulinum Toxin A and an intensive hands on session.

As always the real learning is through practice and cases performed. On this course you will be able to perform as many injections as you need until you feel confident to take them into your daily practice.

Practical Injection Techniques to be covered
- Upper Face: Glabella, Forehead and Peri-orbital (crows feet), Brow Lifting
- Midface: Bunny lines, Nose tip lifting (Depressor Septi) , Gummy Smile Injection (LLSAN)
- Lower Face: Perioral (Depressor Anguli Oris / Orbicularis Oris) Masseter (Bruxism and jaw contouring)
- Neck (Platysmal Bands)
- Primary Hyperhidrosis (Axillary / Palmar / Plantar) – These will be discussed & demonstrated techniques
- Facial Nerve Palsy and Synkinesis (discussion only)

Basic Science of Botulinum Toxin A
- Mechanism of action
- Biochemistry and Pharmacology: onset and duration of action, metabolism, toxicity
- Comparison of Botulinum Toxins A : reconstitution, dilution , dosage and storage
- Contra-indications , potential risks and management of adverse effects

Facial and Neck Anatomy
- In depth understanding of relevant vessels, nerves and muscles
- Knowledge of common treatment areas , danger zones and high risk areas
- Recognition and ability to correct suboptimal outcomes using knowledge of facial muscle interactions

Ageing Process
- Understanding of static and dynamic wrinkling
- Understanding of age-related changes
- Familiarity with the concepts of youth and attractiveness: eyebrow shape, facial contours and symmetry

Cosmetic Toxin Injections
- Accurate and appropriate injection technique and product placement: dose and site
- Knowledge of manufactures guidelines
- Ability to adjust toxin dose and placement for individualised treatment
